Morey Wright Jr., MBA, MA, is an entrepreneur, tech consultant and business executive. He was first elected to the Tamarac City Commission in 2022, where he served as vice mayor and represented the City on the Broward County Affordable Housing Advisory Committee. He also chaired the City’s Financial Audit Committee, highlighting his commitment to fiscal responsibility and community well-being.
Wright advocates for public education, public safety, senior citizens, lowering the cost of living and preserving green spaces. He created the Tamarac Scholars Program, which has awarded more than $1 million in scholarships to students and adults returning to school. He also led efforts to establish a restrictive covenant on the Colony West Golf Course to ensure it remains a green space indefinitely.
In addition to his public service, Wright is a successful business executive and entrepreneur with a proven track record. He recently grew an e-commerce startup from its inception to multiple seven-figure revenues. He now operates a fast-growing small business in the technology sector, demonstrating his entrepreneurial spirit and strategic expertise.
Wright holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Florida. He earned two master’s degrees from Johns Hopkins University, one in government and another in business administration. His education provides a strong foundation in public policy, leadership and economics.
He is the son of a U.S. Air Force veteran and a breast cancer survivor. In his personal time, Wright enjoys reading, sports, dining out, walking and traveling.
