Risk Management

The Risk Management Division administers the City's Insurance programs covering property, liability, and worker's compensation. The Division also administers the City's safety programs and ensures that the City is in compliance with local, state, and federal laws. The major services provided by the Division include: insurance coverage acquisition, contract review, safety program development, employee training and education, claims management, and minimizing loss potentials by advising user groups on risk identification, evaluation, and control.

Claims

The Claims Section manages requests from individuals seeking compensation from the City of Tamarac for property damage or bodily injury. If you believe you have a valid claim, you may submit it for review.

1️⃣ Pothole

Damage related to potholes is generally not covered. To report a pothole you’ve seen, please use See, Click, Fix at (Tamarac.gov/help)

2️⃣ Property Damage or Personal Injury Claims

To file a claim related to property damage or personal injury, contact the Risk Management Office:

Please include the following information:

• ✓ Your full name
• ✓ Address
• ✓ Phone Number
• ✓ Date the incident occurred
• ✓ Location of the incident
• ✓ Photos
• ✓ Description of what happened

Once received, someone will contact you to provide the name of the adjuster, their phone number and the claim number assigned to your claim.

⚠️ Important: Submitting a claim for damage, loss, or injury does not guarantee financial reimbursement to you.  Each claim is reviewed on an individual basis.

3️⃣ Workers’ Compensation Claims

If you are a City of Tamarac employee who has been injured on the job, please notify your supervisor immediately. You may also contact the Risk Management Office directly at (954) 597-3613.
