An ordinance approving the establishment of the Ruth Bader Ginsburg Commission on the Status of Women was ratified by the Commission in March 2021. The Commission is named in honor of Justice Ginsburg, a trailblazer who became the second woman appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court in 1993. Membership of this Board can only be filled by residents of the City, an owner or employee of a business located in the City. Each district is represented as follows:
1. Patti Lynn – Mayor Gomez
2. Linda Danner – Commissioner Dr. Kicia Daniel, District 4
3. Janice Haywood – Vice Mayor Bolton, District 1
4. Rachel Scott – Commissioner Wright, District 2
5. TBC – Commissioner Krystal Patterson, District 3

Purpose/ Mission
Determine and resolve communication, economic, social, living and health and other issues in our community that affect women, by providing resources, education, and advocacy.
Each year, in commemoration of Women’s History Month, the Ruth Bader Ginsburg Commission on the Status of Women honors women who have made outstanding contributions to the community.
Pink Luncheon
The Ruth Bader Ginsburg (RBG) Commission recognizes one woman for outstanding community service during the Annual Women in Pink Luncheon, hosted by the Tamarac North Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce.
