NW 94th Ave Crosswalk & Roadway Drainage Improvements Project
This in-house design project includes the redesign of NW 94th Avenue in front of Challenger Elementary and Millenium Middle School to include: two new raised school crosswalks (i.e. speed table traffic calming measures) at the intersection of NW 57th Street and 8 NW 58th Street with truncated dome ADA Ramps; centerline traffic separators, with mid-crossing ADA truncated domes, to control the traffic flow within this corridor; modifications to the existing bike path system to support the raised school crosswalks and associated pavement markings and signage. Also, due to the extremely poor soil percolation conditions in this area, the landscaping medians are holding water and excess water is seeping into the roadway limerock base, causing excessive asphalt rutting and premature asphalt deterioration. This project will include the installation of drainage improvement, including infiltration trench pipe, drainage structures and associated work within the existing landscape medians; removal of existing asphaltic concrete pavement and resurfacing at NW 94th Avenue.
