Cybersecurity Awareness
Cybersecurity Awareness Month
Each October, the City of Tamarac proudly recognizes Cybersecurity Awareness Month — a global initiative dedicated to promoting safe online behavior and protecting individuals, families, and organizations from digital threats.
As cyber risks continue to evolve, this awareness month serves as a powerful reminder that everyone has a role to play in safeguarding our digital world. Whether at home, at work, or in the classroom, simple actions can make a big difference in protecting sensitive information and keeping our networks secure.
FOCUS
Cybersecurity Awareness focuses on four easy, everyday steps everyone can take to protect themselves online:
Use strong passwords & a password manager
Turn on multifactor authentication (MFA)
Recognize and report phishing scams
Keep your software updated
These best practices form the “Core 4” of online safety—simple actions that can dramatically reduce your risk of falling victim to cyberattacks.
Let’s work together to Stay Safe Online — today and every day.
Tamarac’s Commitment to Cybersecurity
The City of Tamarac is committed to ensuring the security and privacy of its residents, businesses, and internal systems. Each October, we participate in national and local awareness campaigns and issue an official proclamation in support of Cybersecurity Awareness Month.
We encourage all residents, employees, and businesses to take part by learning how to secure their digital lives—and to spread the word about online safety in our community.
